Posted on March 23, 2022February 7, 2022 By Gerrard

Every country and state are amazing in their own right. Whether through a rich collection of historic and cultural sights or the wondrous nature and its sights, all places in the world hold some sort of beauty.

Hiking is a great sport and hiking involves going into nature, outside, sometimes on a trail, sometimes off the beaten path. Kentucky is a state which has some of the most amazing natural sights and trails to explore. If you like hiking, then you will be thrilled to know about these amazing hiking trails in Kentucky.

Pinnacle Trail – Cumberland Gap National Park

The Cumberland Gap is home to many trails, around 85 miles of trails. That is a lot, for any type of hiker. The good news is that the trails are not the same length or difficulty, making them a great choice for hikers of any level, from beginners to advanced.

The Pinnacle Trail, particularly, is interesting if you want to explore the Gap and its many lovely sights. It is an 8 mile long trail that has a little climb to it, meaning a bit of exercise along the way. It ends at an overlook that provides a great view of the Gap.

Eagle Falls Trail – Cumberland Falls State Park

The Eagle Falls are waterfalls, as the name suggests. The trail is not long, about a mile and a half, but it is a lovely place to walk, when not full of other interested tourists. It is a popular route, so you can expect to see tourists during the season. It is also the only route to Eagle Falls, which is why it can be very congested. This trail is open at all times and there are even steps on the way, making it a relatively easy but beautiful trail for all hikers to explore.

The Loop – Breaks Interstate Park

The loop is a trail in the Breaks Interstate Park, and as its name suggests, is a loop around a lovely gorge, which some people call a Grand Canyon in the south. The scenery is much different than that of the Canyon, with beautiful forests and green as far as the eye can see. This trail is not open at all times, but rather from April until December. It can be dangerous during winter, which is why it is closed. It is moderately long, almost five miles. There are plenty of vistas and overlooks which should provide ample opportunities for selfies.

Double Arch – Daniel Boone National Forest

The Double Arch is a lovely place to visit, natural rock arches which one can walk under. The trail is around four and half miles long and is not a hard trail to hike. It does and at an amazing overlook and with a permit, one can camp in the vicinity. The trail can be explored all throughout the year, making it a great choice for beginners.

Kentucky has vast natural beauty to offer. If you want to explore Kentucky on foot, these are the hiking trails to consider first. There are thousands of trails to explore, but start with these ones, to get a feel for Kentucky’s beauty.
